He may be forced t perform concerts behind a computer screen and generously give of his time visiting nursing homes for private concerts.

But Daniel O’Donnell is still making a good living from his huge popularity.

Accumulated profits at the entertainment firm owned by the singer last year jumped by more than €650,000 to €3.643m.

New accounts lodged to the Companies Office show that “Wee Daniel’s” DOD Promotions Ltd enjoyed a bumper year in 2019 when accumulated profits at the company increased from €2.983m to €3.643m.

The profits of €659,569 in the 12 months to the end of October of last year is more than double the profits of €323,949 recorded in 2018.

The firm’s current assets, made up of cash and debtors, decreased from €1.548m to €1.39m.

However, the value of the firm’s fixed assets increased during the period from €1.5m to €2.3m.

The company generates the greatest bulk of its income from live performance and the 58 year old – like every other live performer – has seen his live income decimated since March of this year due to Covid-19.

However, that did not stop the singer delighting cocooning residents of care homes in Co Donegal with a series of open air surprise – and free – performances during Covid 19.

The popular singer has also been forced to cancel all other dates due to the pandemic.

They include dates for this December at the Convention Centre in Dublin, which will now take place in December 2021.

Daniel was also forced to cancel a planned August tour of Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania due to the pandemic.

The singer has also had to reschedule dates for Branson in the state of Missouri in the US for November next year where he is down to play 13 nights.

Daniel has, however, also announced a string of dates for the UK in October of next year.

However, in the meantime, the singer is staying in touch with his fan base by appearing live via Facebook every Sunday evening at 8pm.
