Minister for Agriculture, Food, and the Marine Charlie McConalogue has confirmed that public libraries in County Donegal will see an investment of €100,000 from Government.
The capital funding will be used for improvement works at Libraries in Letterkenny, Buncrana, and Bundoran. €100,000 has been provided for by the Library Small Scale Capital Works 2020 programme.
Minister McConalogue commented, “Libraries do tremendous work in our communities. They are an invaluable learning resource, a place to study or work, to meet, and an important make up of the social fabric of our towns and villages.
“I am delighted to confirm the capital works funding will provide for ceiling insulation, painting, replace radiators, and replacement floor coverings in Letterkenny Library, a meeting pod in Buncrana Library, and painting at Bundoran Library.
“As more of us work from home or remote study away from college campuses local libraries will only increase in their importance. I am delighted to see this investment in our libraries in County Donegal,” concluded Minister McConalogue.
