A much-loved primary school teacher was the star of her very own show on her retirement.
Mrs Assumpta Donaghy retired from Scoil Cholmcille in Letterkenny last Friday after an incredible 37 years.
Her impact as a teacher, and later as a Deputy Principal, will be felt among generations of families in the local community.
As a thank you, the staff and students of Scoil Cholmcille prepared a surprise video and enlisted an amazing mix of celebrities to wish Mrs Donaghy a happy retirement.
The school news report, presented by sixth class pupil Kacper, features top names from Mrs Donaghy’s favourite club, Liverpool, as well as a host of well-known music and acting personalities.
Mark Lawrenson, Niamh Fahy, John Barnes, Mary Black, Brian Kennedy, Paul Brady, Imelda May, John Lithgow and Fiona Shaw are just a selection of the people who wanted to wish Mrs Donaghy well on her next adventure. Watch the video here:
