Thirteen people have died with Covid-19 in Northern Ireland in the past day, the Department of Health reports.
A further 722 new cases of Covid-19 have been detected in the region.
Sixty-four of the new cases are in the Derry City/Strabane council region.
The total number of deaths associated with the disease in NI is now 671.
Hospitals across Northern Ireland are coming under increasing pressure due to the rise in Covid-19 patients.
Dr Tom Black, Chair of the British Medical Association’s Northern Ireland Council, said this week has been the “worst in the NHS in living memory” and warned that there is a real risk of health services being overwhelmed in the coming weeks as the crisis worsens.
Dr Black told BBC Radio Foyle that hospitals are facing a “triple whammy” of rising cases, lack of available staff, and winter pressures.
