Covid-19: 18 new cases in Donegal; 499 cases, eight deaths nationally

ANOTHER 18 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Donegal today.

The figure is a drop from the record daily high of 75 yesterday, but Donegal’s 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 population is still the country’s highest.

There have been 476 new cases in the last 14 days and Donegal’s incidence rate is now 299.

Nationally, the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) was notified of eight further Covid-19 related deaths.

There were 499 new cases of the coronavirus detected.

Since the outbreak, Ireland’s death toll is now 1,940 while there have been 64,538 cases.

Of the cases notified today: 244 are men / 249 are women; 68 per cent are under 45 years of age; the median age is 32 years old.

There are 175 of the cases in Dublin, with 72 in Cork, 29 in Limerick, 26 in Mayo, 21 in Meath and the remaining 176 cases are spread across 19 other counties.
