Breaking: 59 new Covid-19 cases as Donegal’s incidence rate remains highest

ANOTHER 59 new Covid-19 cases have been reported in Donegal today.

Donegal’s 14-day incidence rate remains the highest in the country at 295.2 per 100,000 population.

In the last 14 days, there have been 470 new cases in Donegal.

Today’s 59 new cases is the second highest in the country today with 181 in Dublin, 50 in Limerick, 36 in Cork and 25 in Kildare.

Nationally, two more Covid-19 deaths and 542 new cases were confirmed.

Since the outbreak, there have been 1,947 Covid-19 related seats and 65,394 positive cases.

The latest hospital update, issued earlier today by the HSE, showed that the number of Covid-19 patients in Letterkenny University Hospital had risen to 25.

The figures, measured at 8pm on Saturday, showed that there were also three suspect Covid-19 cases in LUH, where there were no critical care beds available and eight general beds vacant.

As of 2pm today, 283 Covid-19 patients across the country are hospitalised, of which 39 are in ICU. There have been 13 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

In Northerm Ireland, health officials confirmed seven further Covid-19 related deaths and 420 new cases.
