Community remembering loved ones with special online mass

Families all over the world with a connection to Meenacross are being invited to join a special Remembrance Mass this Tuesday evening.

The mass will be streamed on the Meenacross Chapel Facebook page this evening, 17th November at 7.30pm.

The idea stemmed from a local art project and a recent increase in families contacting the chapel through Facebook requesting remembrance prayers.

The Meenacross community has been connecting and remembering loved ones in special ways this year:

The Meenacross Chapel Facebook page offers rosaries and prayers for those who are missing going to mass each Sunday. During the month of November all the local children drew flowers to remember their loved ones who are no longer with us.

There is also a Remembrance Chair at the grotto where people can go daily to pray.

The Facebook page is contacted daily with names of people to be prayed for, not just locally but requests as far as Australia and Chicago.

In response, one of the church committee came up with the idea of a Remembrance mass which has been recorded and will be played this evening, Thursday 17th November at 7.30pm.

Local soloists, young and old will provide the music for tonight’s mass. Tune in on the Meenacross Chapel Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/Meenacross-chapel-104905201071927/?__tn__=-UC*F
