Home Instead Senior Care has launched a new #StepUpForDonegal campaign as it celebrates the awarding of the Ulster CAREGiver of the Year title to one of their inspirational staff.

Liz McMenamin from Killygordan was a Covid-19 all-star CAREgiver in recent months.

She has been praised for going above and beyond in her work as a CAREGiver with Home Instead Donegal. Her empathy and caring for her clients is what makes her so special. She relates to them as if they were a member of her own family.

It has been a difficult year for all on the front line and Liz is well deserving of this great award, according to a spokesperson.

Home Instead Senior Care is now calling on the community to support CAREGivers and frontline workers as they step up every day to take care of their clients in the community, adhere to the guidelines and limit their actions to keep everyone safe. With their help and consultation and in celebration of Liz’s great award, Home Instead Senior Care Donegal wanted to do something to support all agencies in delivering the Covid-19 message and help get that message out to the community, helping to lower transmission in Donegal.

A spokesperson said: “Today we launch a new initiative called #StepUpForDonegal, we are asking the community to celebrate safely and continue with government recommendations so that we can all enjoy a great Christmas and that everyone we love will still be here with us to celebrate next Christmas.

“We are calling on everyone in the county to share a video or message on their social media accounts and use the hash tag #stepupfordonegal #homeinstead.

“Many of our CAREGivers have created their own video messages of Christmas cheer and call to action, asking the community to take part in this coming together of support.

“Even the smallest gesture of support can help the agencies who are tasked with getting the message out in our community, so please celebrate with Home Instead Donegal in applauding Liz’s award and by supporting all CAREGivers and frontline heroes by getting onboard and stepping up for Donegal.
