Gardaí warn of dangerous social media trend

Gardaí across the country have pleaded with people not to join a social media challenge called ‘ghosting’.

The shocking trend involved people daring to lie on a road with a sheet placed over them in an attempt to stop oncoming traffic.

“This activity is extremely irresponsible and poses a serious danger to those taking part and motorists,” gardaí warned.

Gardaí are particularly appealing to parents to educate their children on the dangers of participating in such activity. Parents are asked to stress the importance of wearing high visibility clothing to ‘be seen’ while using Irish roads.
