All Donegal routes to be gritted from 3pm this afternoon

Primary routes across Donegal are to be gritted this afternoon ahead of a heavy frost this evening.

Donegal County Council will send out its team of gritters from 3pm to treat all roads.

It is expected that continued treatment of routes will take place throughout the night.

Met Eireann has warned that temperatures are set to dip as low as a numbing -8C in some parts of the country.

People are asked to take care if out and about and driving on roads.
