Gardai have launched an investigation after a digger was set on fire in Gaoth Dobhair.

The Samsung excavator was parked up in a quarry at Gaoth Dobhair Station between Wednesday last, January 13th and Friday, 15th when it was attacked.

A substantial amount of damage was caused to the cab of the vehicle.

Garda Sgt Paul Wallace said anyone with any information on the attack should contact Gardai in Milford or Bunbeg or use the confidential line on 1800 666111.

He added “Times are tough for people including those in the construction industry and this is not good for the owner or the people of the area.”
