Relay for Life Donegal is fighting back this year with a virtual fundraiser.
The major event will return on the June Bank Holiday weekend, but instead of the usual large gathering at LYIT, teams will be clocking up their steps in their local areas and sharing progress online in aid of the Irish Cancer Society.
The Relay for Life Donegal committee was forced to cancel in 2020 due to coronavirus. The spirit of the event lived on however, when the Luminaria ceremony was broadcast online to thousands worldwide.
Work is now going on behind the scenes to make 2021 just as good as all other years.
The long-running event is the biggest cancer fundraising initiative in the world, aiming to raise vital funds for life-saving cancer research and free services for cancer patients and their loved ones.
