A search operation is currently underway in the Lough Swilly area.
Members of the Irish Coast Guard at Malin Head are coordinating the operation in response to reports of a missing person.
The Sligo Rescue 118 helicopter was dispatched to the area this morning after 10.45am. The helicopter returned to base shortly after 1pm.
Two Lough Swilly RNLI lifeboats were tasked to assist at 10.30am and 11.44am. Lifeboats remain in the area and have this afternoon confirmed that the search is ongoing.
Local fishing vessels in the area are also assisting in the search.
