FINN Valley AC’s Oisin Gallen ran a useful indoor season opener in Nashville.
Gallen finished the 3000m in 8:25.03.
Competing at the Music City Challenge, Gallen has had limited training done for events outside of his cross country exploits.
The time is Gallen’s fastest in two years and his second fastest ever.
Hosted by Vanderbilt, the event attracted the 2021 collegiate top 10 lists.
Gallen, a student at the University of Tennessee at Martin, will retain eligibility for a cross country campaign in the autumn and also the indoor season 2022.
The Ballybofey man is also aiming to stay Stateside to undertake a Masters.
