Gardai in Inishowen are investigating another incident of a car being damaged by fire.
The car was found burned out at Gortnamara in Carndonagh at 12.40am on February 19th last.
Fire service personnel extinguished the fire and a Garda forensic team now have the chassis number of the vehicle and are trying to locate the owner.
Garda Grainne Doherty said a number of such cars are being sold on and are being disposed of.
She reminded car-owners that the onus is on the seller to ensure that all paperwork is completed when a car is sold.
“We appreciate that car-owners are delighted to sell their vehicles but there is a danger that the car could be involved in a serious incident.
“It is very important that the Vehicle Registration Cert is signed and sent to Shannon so the new owner is clarified,” she said.
