ALL primary school pupils and fifth year secondary school students will return to classrooms from next Monday, March 15.
The next phase of the reopening of schools has been given the green light, the Department of Education has confirmed.
Today, an approximate 100,000 preschool children under the ECCE scheme were back.
Last week, Leaving Certificate students and junior and senior infant pupils went back to classroom settings.
A letter to school principals said: ‘Public health has reviewed the measures put in place to ensure safe operation of schools and is satisfied that these infection prevention and control measures, if rigorously adhered to, will keep the school community safe during this period.’
Schools have been asked to remind parents not to congregate around school grounds or school gates.
The final groups will be back in their classrooms on April 12.
