Doherty the keynote speaker as Drumboe Commemoration goes online again

PEARSE Doherty TD will be the keynote speaker as the 2021 Drumboe Easter Commemoration will be held online.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the commemoration is being held online for the second year in a row.

The biggest commemoration in Donegal is usually in Stranorlar, where crowds traditionally assemble to make their way to the Drumboe Martyrs Memorial.

The Drumboe commemoration marks the deaths of four Anti-Treaty Irish Republican Army Volunteers – Charles Daly, Timothy O’Sullivan, Daniel Enright and Seán Larkin – who were executed in Drumboe Woods on March 14, 1923.

Traditionally, large crowds gather at over 100 commemorations across the country – including many in Donegal.

It has been confirmed that the Drumboe Easter Commemoration will be held online on the Donegal Sinn Féin Facebook page on Sunday at 5pm, with Deputy Doherty as the keynote speaker.
