Councillors have been informed that the new tourism kiosk in Newtowncunningham is almost complete.

All works were to be completed by December 2019, how, this date was put back due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Ms Fiona Doherty, of Donegal County Council’s Community Development Division, gave the most up-to-date position at this week’s meeting of the Inishowen Municipal District (MD).

She told councillors the construction element of the unit is completed and the interactive touch screen and technology is installed. The 4m x 2m LED light box tourism map showing heritage and activities in Inishowen and Donegal is also in place.

“Work relating to mapping, signage and internal fit-out of the tourism kiosk will be completed in 2nd quarter 2021,” Ms Doherty said.
