Breaking: Thirty-four more Covid-19 cases in Donegal, 12 deaths nationally

ANOTHER 34 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Donegal today.

Nationally, 12 more Covid-19 related deaths and 431 new cases were announced by health officials.

Ireland’s death toll is now 4,812 while there have been 242,105 positive cases.

The median age of those who died was 76 years and the age range was 42-91 years.

Donegal’s high level of infection continues with today’s case taking to 285 the number of new cases recorded over the last 14 days and the 14-day incidence rate is now 179.

Of the cases notified today: 204 are men and 226 are women; 70 per cent are under 45 years of age; the median age is 33 years old.

As of 8am today, 192 Covid-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 49 are in ICU. There have been 13 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

As of last Monday (12 April) there have been 1,076,216 doses of Covid-19 vaccine administered in Ireland: 758,763 people have received their first dose; 317,453 people have received their second dose
