Staff at Glenties Comprehensive School have set themselves a lofty target of walking 15 million steps this month!
The collective challenge for the hard workers at ‘the Comp’ is part of the Staff Step Challenge.
“We have just over 40 staff members participating which averages out at 12,500 steps every day for the 30 days of April,” a spokesperson for the school said.
“We are trying to raise awareness of the importance of physical exercise in creating healthy wellbeing. We are also raising money for picnic benches for the students and have sourced a local producer to supply them.
“So far we have walked over seven million steps. By the end of the challenge we will have walked the equivalent of 7,500 miles, which is twice around the perimeter of Ireland.”
