Schools host fundraising events for Donegal Down Syndrome

SCHOOLS across Donegal marked World Down Syndrome Day with fundraising events.

Donegal Down Syndrome has expressed its thanks ‘to all the wonderful awareness campaigns that were held over World Down Syndrome Day across the county.’

Fundraising events were held at Gairmscoil Mhic Diarmada, Arranmore, Loreto College Milford, Lifford NS, Gartan NS, Scoil Mhuire Creeslough, Tiny Tots Redcastle and St Peters NS, Mountcharles.

A spokesperson for Donegal Down Syndrome said: “We wish a big thank you to all those schools who held fundraising events.

“It is gratefully received and the money goes directly to supporting those with Down Syndrome in the county.”

Donegal Down Syndrome is based at High Road, Letterkenny and provides a range of services such as: Speech and language therapy; 1-1 swimming lessons; occupational therapy; physiotherapy; ability counts (6+ exercise programme); life skills programme (for adults 18+); Literacy (for adults 18+); Yoga (Letterkenny and Carndonagh); parent/toddler group; music lessons; dance lessons; cycling lessons; Friday Fun Club (meet up monthly); parent link; counselling; school visits; behavioural consultation support.
