Ninth-place finish for Brendan Boyce in Podebrady

BRENDAN Boyce finished ninth in the men’s 50k at the European Race Walking Cup this morning in Podebrady, Czech Republic.

Boyce finished in 3:52:15 in a race won by Spaniard Marc Tur in 3:47:40.

Aleski Ojala of Finland was the silver medalist in 3:48:25 with Andrea Agrusti taking bronze in 3:49:52.

Finn Valley AC’s came through 25k in 1:55:57 and was in 14th at that stage.

Over the last 8k, Boyce moved up five places and crossed the line in ninth spot.

Boyce has already place at the Tokyo Olympics.
