An innovative project led by Arranmore islanders won a runner up prize at the virtual .IE Digital Town Awards 2021 today.
The project won a total prize of €5,000 following a closely fought competition in the Small Town category.
Islanders had come up with a way of using technology in the home to provide simple solutions in assisted living for the elderly to monitor behavioural change around areas like kettles and doors.
The .IE Digital Town Awards aim to ‘Shine a Light’ on the good work and achievements of towns that demonstrated digital thinking and innovation for the betterment of local people, services, and society.
Helen Nolan, Co-Founder & CEO of Spraoi agus Spórt in Carndonagh, was shortlisted for the national ‘Local Hero’ award designed to celebrate the digital achievements of local towns and communities across Ireland.
