Listen: Olympic-bound Mark English has found his ‘mojo’ again

MARK English says he has found his ‘mojo’ again.

The Finn Valley AC 800m ace is on his way to the Olympic Games after an excellent run in Madrid last night.

English was second in the men’s 800m at Meting Madrid, a World Athletics Continental Tour silver meeting, his time of 1:45.22 just .02 outside the automatic qualifying time.

English, though, will be in Tokyo thanks to his ranking and he could still get the automatic time when he runs at next weekend’s National Senior Championships.

“I’ve found the mojo again,” English said after running his fastest time since 2014.

“I know what I need to do now to perform close to my best.

“I’ve come a long way. If I get into the right race before the end of the year again I can knock a chunk off that.

“I’m delighted to have found that old form and hopefully I can kick on in the next couple of races.”
