THE Letterkenny Busking Festival will return to Letterkenny’s Main Street this year on July 31st, it has been confirmed.
Each year the annual competition see’s all types of performers, battling it out to win the amazing cash prizes up for grabs. Performers and groups of all ages, sizes and talents are welcome to take part.
The Letterkenny Busking Festival has been an annual favourite amongst the town’s performers, residents and businesses since it was first held in 2015. Each participant or group that takes part in the competition, will be in with a chance of winning prizes from the €1000 prize fund.
Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce is organising the Busking Festival through its ShopLK Brand.
“We’re delighted to be in the position again to run this year’s festival,” said Michael Margey, President of Letterkenny Chamber.
“It’s been a difficult year for our local businesses and for the community, so we are delighted to be bringing entertainment and some summer excitement back to the town.
“We will have all the social distancing measures in place to ensure that our buskers and spectators feel safe and experience an enjoyable event.
“ShopLK is all about enjoying the best shopping experience in Letterkenny and we want our regular customers and visitors to really enjoy what the town has to offer.
“This type of event that is funded through the Retail Promotion initiative from Donegal County Council makes happy shoppers and creates a real buzz. We know there will be tight competition for the top spot.”
