THE Mica issue will be top of the agenda for the new Cathaoirleach of the Inishowen Municipal District, Councillor Bernard McGuinness.

The Fine Gael Councillor took the chain of office at today’s AGM.

He was proposed by Cllr Martin McDermott and was seconded by Cllr Martin Farren.

Cllr Nicholas Crossan will serve as the Leas Cathaoirleach of the Inishowen MD for the next 12 months.

Cllr McGuinness said that his top priority will be the campaign for a 100 per cent Mica redress scheme.

Last Tuesday, thousands of Donegal people took to Dublin and marched from the Convention Centre to Leinster House demanding a 100 per cent redress scheme.

Many homes built using defective concrete blocks have to be completely demolished and rebuilt.
