Almost 7,000 Donegal people currently in receipt of PUP payment

Almost 7,000 Donegal people are in receipt of the Pandemic Unemployment Payment (PUP), according to figures just released by the Department of Social Protection. 

As of today, a total of 6,895 are receiving the PUP here, slightly down from 7,255 who were getting it last week.

At its peak, in the week commencing May 4, last year, 22,594 in Donegal were in receipt of the payment.

To date, 4,897 Donegal people have been medically certified for receipt of a Covid-19 related Illness Benefit payment.

Nationally, this week, the DSP issued weekly payments valued at €62.7 million to 211,847 people in receipt of the PUP.
