Fantastic five on final leg of Mizen-Malin challenge for little Kaitlyn

Five inspirational cyclists are bound for Malin Head today in a major fundraiser for local girl Kaitlyn Glackin.

John Bradley, Trevor James, Aonghus Murphy, Paul Ryan and Michael Mc Aleer have been on the road since Saturday, pedalling all the way from Cork to Donegal.

Their journey is in support of 11-year-old Donegal Town girl Kaitlyn Glackin and her family. Kaitlyn is currently in her third battle with leukemia. The brave and popular girl has already faced down cancer twice since she was first diagnosed at the age of four.

While Kaitlyn is currently in hospital in Dublin, her family has found promising treatment options in the UK. The Donegal community has since rallied around them to raise funds that will give Kaitlyn a fighting chance.

One such fundraiser is this week’s mammoth 600km Mizen to Malin cycle.

Mayor of Donegal Town, Pauric Kennedy was out on the Diamond, Donegal Town at 7am this morning wishing the five cyclists good luck on the final leg today.
