A trial has been halted at Letterkenny Circuit Court after a close contact of a person directly involved in the case tested positive for Covid-19.
The trial was entering its third day when news of the incident was relayed to the court.
Judge John Aylmer said he had no choice but to discharge the jury.
He also said that while he had no authority to order people to have Covid tests, he suggested anybody who was in the courtroom in recent days to have a Covid test.
