THE emergency services responded to a fire at Letterkenny Institute of Technology this evening.
At around 6.30pm, thick black smoke puffed into the Letterkenny sky from the blaze.
Fire crews and Gardaí were at the scene of the fire, which broke out at the rear of the LYIT complex.
Entrances to the grounds of LYIT were sealed off as the fire was brought under control.
The cause of the fire has yet to be established.
