Indoor dining to resume next week – but time limits set to be scrapped

INDOOR hospitality is set to reopen from next Monday, July 26 – with time limits removed for people who are vaccinated.

The 11.30pm closing time will remain in place while a digital Covid certificate checker is to be rolled out. Using this, QR codes can be scanned upon entry.

This app is to ready for next week, it is understood. Papers certificates will also be accepted.

Up to six people will be allowed sit at tables that must be kept a metre apart except in the case of tables with children which will have to be located two metres from other tables.

Indoor dining was up discussed this evening at a meeting between representatives from the hospitality sector and Government officials.

The time limit of one hour and 45 minutes for indoor dining is set to be removed.

The draft set of regulations – which include guidelines for effective ventilation – will go before the Cabinet for approval tomorrow.
