One of Donegal’s most popular islands has been fitted with vital lifesaving rings.
Inish Boffin has enjoyed a huge increase in numbers because of a new ferry service to the West Donegal island.
Now Bunbeg Coastguard has helped to install the new equipment.
Members of the coastguard have stressed that a life ring is a very valuable and essential resource if someone gets into trouble in the sea.
The group thanked all those who made it possible to install the liferings on the island.
“We wish to thank, Cllr. John Shéamais Ó Fearraigh who supplied the life rings and containers, to Harry Coll #SaoirseNaMara who transported the units to the island, and to Eoghan Ó Fearraigh, who installed the Post Mounted Water Safety and Rescue Equipment at the beach and at An Earramhnaigh on the island.
Thank you, one and all. Please make water safety part of the conversation that you have with family members and friends.”
