Health officials have today confirmed 1,819 new cases of Covid-19 in the Republic.
There are 206 people hospitalised with the virus, including 36 in ICU.
Nine patients with Covid-19 are being treated at Letterkenny University Hospital, with two people in ICU.
Daily county-by-county figures are no longer released by NPHET, but the latest data shows that Donegal has Ireland’s highest incidence of infection.
The 14-day incidence rate in Donegal stood at 839.2 per 100,000 on 9th August The national average was 422.5 per 100,000.
Over 89% of Irish adults have now received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. Over 78% of adults are now fully vaccinated.
The vaccine portal will open for 12-15 year olds from tomorrow.
