The very notion that ignorance is bliss is NOT the solution when it comes to your septic tank.

Septic Tanks/Waste Water Treatment Systems are regularly inspected by the Environmental Protection Agency.

Random inspections are being carried out by members of the local authorities and the EPA.

Should your system fail you will be required to replace or upgrade your existing system to one that is compliant with CEN 12566 standard.

During the Inspection, checks are carried out on the following:

• Is the system registered?
• If it is leaking
• If the components are in working order
• If the effluent is ponding on the top of the ground
• If the wastewater treatment system is discharging directly to surface water without a licence.
• If the effluent is treated adequately or being released directly to groundwater
• If rainwater or clean surface water is entering into the system
• If the wastewater treatment system is being operated and maintained properly
• If the system has been de-sludged
• If the system adversely affects the environment due to poor management

Should your system fail you will be required to replace or upgrade your existing system to one that is compliant with CEN 12566 standard.
Did you know you may be entitled to up to a Grant of up to 85% of the cost to replace your Domestic Waste Water Treatment System?
