Cloughaneely GAA Club pays tribute to the late Danny Doohan

The club wishes to extend their deepest condolences to the Doohan family on the sad passing of Danny Doohan, New York and Drumnatinney.

Although having lived in New York for much of his life, having moved there in 1968, his home club was never far from his heart.

His consistent and loyal support for CLG Chloich Cheann Fhaola was unwavering; both financially and as a steadfast advocate for his much loved Gaelic football.

He was an all-round true Gael and will be sadly missed by us all here at the club.

The entire Doohan family and extended family have always been a prominent part and loyal supporters of our club and we wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to them all; in particular to his wife Sheila, daughters Fiona and Danielle, Sons-in-law Rob and John, Grandchildren Hailey, Ciara, Rob Junior and Olivia; Danny’s Brothers Packie, Josie, Eddie, Tony, Christy and his sister Kathleen.

Ar dheis lámh Dé go raibh a anam uasal Gaelach.

Buy a Sod – Deadline extended

We are extremely grateful to everyone who has supported this fundraising initiative so far.

We had a number of people asking for an extension to the deadline as they still wished to purchase a sod; therefore we’ve extended our deadline for a while longer (date to be confirmed).

For anyone still willing to support this much needed development of the pitch you can do so online at www.buyasod.com, contact us via the club facebook page, contact Joe McGarvey, call into Martin in Shane McGee’s or Ciaran in Batch.

It costs €100 to sponsor a sod and in return your name (or company name, or in memory of someone) will be erected on a fixture on a wall at the clubhouse for generations to come to look back on and remember those who helped develop their club.

 Club Lotto Results

The numbers drawn were 1,5,9,15,17,19! No jackpot winner..we had 6 match 4’s:

Congratulations Michael McFadden, who wins €100! Our jackpot will be remaining at €6,000 for the next while due to reduced sales as a result of Covid.
