Covid-19: 1,180 new cases, 362 patients in hospital

THE Department of Health has confirmed 1,180 new cases of Covid-19 today.

Health officials say that there are now 362 patients in Irish hospitals receiving treatment.

Of those, 59 are in intensive care settings.

At Letterkenny University Hospital, there are now 13 patients with Covid-19, none of whom are in ICU.

Deaths relating to the coronavirus are now being announced weekly following the HSE data breach in May. The latest figure, released on Wednesday, showed that 5,112 people have died with Covid-19 in Ireland.
