Covid: 1,466 new cases as Carn and Buncrana remain amongst highest

There has been another 1,466 cases of Covid reported today.

There are also 311 people in hospital with the virus with 58 of these in intensive care.

The incidence of Covid remains high in parts of Donegal.

The Chair of NPHET’s Epidemiological Modelling Advisory Group, Professor Philip Nolan, said yesterday that the seven-day rate had decreased, but still remained “very high”.

Latest data shows that local areas with the highest incidence of disease include Carndonagh and Buncrana – each of which have an incidence rate ranging from 1,234 cases per 100,000 to 1,576 per 100,000.
