Mapping Covid: Incidence rates down in six areas of Donegal

Covid-19 incidence rates have reduced in six of Donegal’s seven local electoral areas, new figures show.

However, five areas of the county are among the ten worst-affected regions in Ireland.

Milford, Lifford-Stranorlar, Buncrana, Glenties and Letterkenny are all listed among the 10 highest Covid-19 rates for the past fortnight.

Lifford-Stranorlar was the only area of Donegal to record a rise in new cases this month. The fortnightly total number of cases rose by three.

The area with the highest level of improvement is Carndonagh/North Inishowen. This region registered 124 new cases of Covid-19 in the two weeks up to Monday – almost 3.5 times lower that the case figures recorded in August.
