Revealed: Drink and drug-driving arrests rocket again across Donegal

The rate of drink and drug-driving across Donegal continues to rise sharply according to statistics seen by Donegal Daily.

The figures, compiled by the Central Statistics Office, were released to Donegal Gardai this week.

The figures show yet another major increase in the number of people being caught under the influence behind the wheel in the county.

The number of people caught driving while under the influence of drugs has seen another major jump from 137 detections in 2020 to 199 this year.

The figures are up until September 2nd last and are compared to the same date last year.

Drink driving continues to rise in Donegal also.

The number of people caught driving under the influence of alcohol jumped from 288 in 2020 to 330 up until September 2nd last.
