Lifford Strabane AC’s Claire McGuigan continued her magnificent early season form when racing to victory at the prestigious Autumn Open Masters Cross Country event held at the Sport Ireland Complex in Abbotstown, Dublin at the weekend.

McGuigan, who was crowned Donegal Masters Cross Country Champion in Carndonagh just two weeks ago, covered the 6km Abbotstown course in 22 minutes and 16 seconds.

On what was a great day for Donegal athletics, the Lifford Strabane AC athlete shared top spot on the podium in the F35 Masters category with Finn Valley’s Jennifer Elvin with Rosses AC’s Helen McCready taking the bronze medal position.
