A grateful family has donated at incredible €23,000 to Letterkenny University Hospital to give thanks for the care of their baby boys.
Twins Caiden and Cian McFadden from Creeslough donned their superhero suits at Halloween to present Peter Cutliffe, chairman of the Friends of LUH with a cheque for €23,079.
The boy’s parents, Tresa & Mark , along with work colleagues and friends wished to make a contribution to the Neo Natal Unit in LUH in recognition of the excellent care and treatment both children received there after being born 10 weeks prematurely.
Tresa & Mark were joined by Davy Cowan, Moira Doherty, Susan Flinter, Jimmy McCarthy, Pauline Coll, David Carroll, Joan Cowan and Margaret McNutt in their fundraising efforts.
The fundraising took many forms, the standout one was the 260 km sponsored walk around County Donegal by Davy Cowan accompanied by support driver Jim Kelly.
The Friends have used the money to purchase digital monitoring equipment for the NNU.
Included in the presentation photo are Mary Lynch, Clinical Nurse Manager, Caroline Mailey, Business Manager, Evelyn Smith, Director of Nursing, all from the Women & Children Services in LUH plus Ivan Fuery and Donal Kelly from the Friends.
