Cloughaneely Golf Clubs 2021 ‘Golfer of the Year’ competition is down to the last event between two golfers.

With only one event left, the 2021 Golfer of the Year competition is between the experience of John McGinley vs the youth of Cian McGarvey. Both sit well clear of the field and level on points heading into the final event.

Cumann Gailf Chloich Cheann Fhaola weekly notes:

We had another good turnout last weekend for the Club Competition. Rumour has it Shaun McGarvey was not looking forward to his match with the fancied John Murphy and decided to postpone to a later date! The early wake up call certainly helped John Murphy and he shot a fantastic score. 1st: John Murphy (21) 43pts.

Congratulations to Ciaran ‘star’ Cannon (46) 46pts on shooting the lights out and winning the beginner’s competition. Next weekend’s competition is the Christmas Hamper which is also the final Golfer of the Year event. Play Saturday or Sunday with 6inch placing on fairways only.

It’s the last handicap counting competition of 2021. Winter handicaps will then be brought into play after next weekend.

Thank you to Ciaran Gallagher Errigal Motors Ltd for his kind sponsorship. Our AGM is pencilled in for Tuesday 14th December online more details to follow from Seán and Mark.
