The Winter League quarter-finals were completed over the weekend at Buncrana Golf Club with the semi-final matches due to be played the weekend of the 18th and 19th December.
The quarter-finals of the Owen McDaid (Roe) Taxi & Mini-Bus Hire match play took place last weekend and the results were as follows; Jonny Morrison & Damien Doherty beat John P McConnell & Liam Lynch,
Michael King & Jamie Friel beat Mickey McHugh & Stephen King,
Cormac Doherty & Leo Sheehy bye Eamon Doherty & Carlo McLaughlin
Oliver Doherty & Eugene Gillespie beat Hugh Doherty & Tony Mc Sherry.
The semi-finals will take place weekend 18th & 19th December and no matches to be played this weekend 11th & 12th December which is set aside for the Christmas Hamper. The format for the match play will be 2 ball scramble with 1/5 of the combined handicap between the pairings.
Result of the 18 Stableford Sweep
There was an 18 hole Stableford sweep played last weekend and with the greens in exceptional condition for this time of year and running at 11 on the stimpmeter it was challenging to hold the greens and hole putts. However David Mc Menamin (24) continued his fine run of form this year bad adding another competition to his tally.
David played some excellent golf in some very stormy conditions on Saturday morning to shoot 39pts. In second place was the ever consistent Paul Eccles (17) 37pts and Emmet Friel (25) took third place with 36pts.
9 Hole Competitions
The 9 hole 20’s competition will be running continuously and it’s a great way to keep your golf competitive during the winter period and helps to keep your game focused. The entry fee is €3.00 and re-entry is also €3.00.

Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th December – Christmas Hamper
Anyone who has qualified for the hamper will have free entry to the hamper and anyone who wishes to play in the non –qualifiers Hamper can do so if they qualified by spending €10.00 on qualifying or make up the difference or pay €10.00 on the day.

Membership 2022
