A delighted Carolynne Harrison, manager and Director of the Marble Hill resort said winning the award was a complete team effort.

She said “All credit goes to my fantastic team who have worked exceptionally hard through a difficult period where we have been faced with challenge after challenge.

“My team have shown resilience and drive to ensure that our guests felt safe but also relaxed and enjoyed every second of their Shandon experience.”

The Shandon Hotel and spa employs 135 staff all through the year and through all seasons.

Not wanting to rest on their laurels, the hotel have extensive plans to continue to invest and develop the property.

Carolynne added “We plan to expand our brand in 2022 and create more employment in rural towns along the wild Atlantic way whilst enhancing our offering as a tourism destination in Donegal.

“The next few months will be a challenge for all rural hotels as we deal with extra restrictions but we are confident that we will persevere and we are hopeful for the future.

“I’d like to lodge my gratitude to the government for listening to our industry and supporting us through the difficult months behind us and in front of us, it really has been key to sustaining employment in hospitality.

“We want to sincerely thank all our guests who have supported our hotel and spa and who have created fantastic demand for our services.

“Our goal is to keep listening to our guests and giving them more of what they love every time they return.”
