Woman injured in suspected needle assault in Letterkenny

A Garda investigation is underway after a woman was allegedly stabbed with a needle in Letterkenny.

The incident, which occurred on Sunday night, is being treated as an assault.

Gardaí say the incident is not linked to recent spiking cases.

A statement said: “Gardaí are investigating an incident of assault that occurred at a premises in Letterkenny, Co Donegal on December 19.

“It is understood a female was injured when she intervened in an altercation between a number of persons. Investigations are ongoing.”
