Heartless thieves broke into a Letterkenny home yesterday and stole a family’s Christmas presents and their TV after they popped out to the shops.
The grinches struck at the Gleann Rua estate in the Glencar area of the town early yesterday evening.
The family had only been out of the house for half an hour.
It is thought the thieves had been watching the movements of householders in the area.
When they returned a number of items had been stolen including Christmas presents and a television.
Local county councillor Gerry McMonagle slammed those behind the low-life theft.
“This is such a cowardly act just a couple of days before Christmas. Please take heed and report anything suspicious to Gardai,” he urged locals.
