The Football Association of Ireland’s Competitions Department last night decided on deferring all national cup competitions due to the high cases of Covid-19.

The FAI last night announced the FAI Junior Cup games scheduled for next weekend are postponed. Along with this, the FAI intermediate, FAI Under Seventeen, FAI Youth and FAI Youth Inter League have all been deferred with new dates to be announced shortly.

The decision affects Cockhill Celtic and Bonagee United who were meant to be in Intermediate Cup action on the weekend of the 22nd January against Liffey Wanderers and Everton AFC respectively.

The news comes after the Donegal Junior and Inishowen Football Leagues both decided to extend their winter break until 22nd January, two weeks later than the initially selected restart.
