Ireland reached a major milestone in the vaccine rollout this morning when the 10 millionth vaccine was administered.
The first Covid-19 vaccine in the state was administered one year ago to Dublin grandmother Annie Lynch on 29th December 2020.
Health chiefs have praised staff and volunteers, GP practices and pharmacies for their work in the past year.
HSE CEO Paul Reid said vaccines “have hugely reduced the impact of Omicron and give great hope to all of us after a tough 2 years. We sure aren’t out of the woods yet but we are seeing some positive indicators.”
