Rooney and Gallagher on form as LYIT win in Championship

LYIT freshers got back to winning ways with a 0-12 to 1-04 win over St. Mary’s College Belfast at the Donegal Training Centre in Convoy.

Five point from Cian Rooney of Aodh Ruadh and four from Dungloe’s Daire Gallagher saw Luke Barretts side ease into the next round.

LYIT’s other scores came from a Daithi Roberts free while full-back Ferdia Doherty got 2 points as they face Queens University for a place in the quarter-finals in the next round.
