Construction work is expected to be concluded shortly on a multi-million euro new school for St Mary’s NS in Stranorlar.

Builders have been on the ground since July last year on the 24-classroom primary education facility.

A spokesperson for the school said: “Work is progressing well on our new school building and we are hoping to be moving in the final term.”

Alongside the mainstream classrooms, the new building will provide for a PE Hall and a suite of resource rooms.

The five acre site will also allow for further expansion in enrolment up to 700 pupils in the years ahead.

Boyle Construction Ltd won the tender for the project which is expected to be completed in the coming weeks, with the first students expected through its doors before the school breaks for the 2022 summer holidays.
